Baby Ezra came in for his newborn session just before Christmas time. Mom and dad really wanted to incorporate the Christmas theme into some of his photos so they could use those images for their holiday card. Since I didn’t have a ton of options in my studio, I decided to go shopping for some new holiday backdrops from Luisa’s store. All her backdrops are so pretty and I knew I would find the perfect options there.

He was such a sweet little man with his tiny little features and adorable expressions. The way he curled up into momma hands and fit so comfortably, it was as if he was posing himself. I loved the family images so much, but I loved the beautiful blue tones we used for the rest of his session as well. I’m sharing a few of my favorites here.

Summer and Fall Family Mini Sessions 2018

Summer and Fall outdoor family mini sessions will open up for booking on WEDNESDAY MAY 23RD at 9:00am PST. I will only be offering a handful of dates and locations this year. Please be sure to review each listing carefully before selecting a date and location that fits your needs.

What is a mini session?

A mini session is a shorter version of a full family session. Mini sessions are limited to 25 minutes and individual families with up to 6 people. Because mini sessions are photographed back to back, I’m able to offer special pricing on both the retainer/session fees as well as your product purchase!

How does it work?

You will reserve your time by paying a retainer fee up front. $100 secures a 25 minute session, $200 secures the 50 minute sunset session. Specific details on location will be sent to you after your retainer has been received and prior to the session date. After your session is photographed, you will receive a link to an online gallery with un-edited images from your session for you to review. At that time, you will purchase the package of your choosing, and the images you select will then be edited. (Editing turnaround is 2-3 weeks.) There will be 4 packages for you to choose from:

Poof box with 4×6 print of each digital image

Photoblocks 3 pack mini set (8×12, 5×7, 4×6)

Please keep in mind that your retainer/session fee is completely separate and will not be applied to your package.

You may purchase back to back time slots to increase your session length, however you must purchase a package for each time slot you select.

**Sessions are rain or shine, however in the event of extreme inclement weather, sessions may be rescheduled at the photographer’s discretion.

You guys, I don’t even know if I can find the words to describe how amazing this family was. Dad is a photographer who mainly photographs weddings and events and pretty much all things NOT newborn photography related 🙂 When they hired me to be their daughter’s photographer, I was beyond flattered. It’s always an honor to be chosen by a family to capture this special time in their lives, but when another photographer chooses you, it’s even more special!

Miss Sasha was so itty bitty. I loved the color pallet momma chose for her session; the creamy tones and the purples were absolutely gorgeous on her. It feels like a lifetime ago when I photographed her session; I can imagine how big she must be getting now.

Houston, TX Newborn Posing Workshop – April 14, 2018

Come spend the day with me in League City, TX and learn all photographing newborns with studio light!

Things we will cover:

posing with siblings and parents
working with studio lighting
choosing and working with props
parent prep
styling your session
soothing techniques
newborn wrapping
transitions and shooting angles
editing workflow

You will have the opportunity to shoot along and use the images you capture for your portfolio!

What you need:

DSLR camera with 35mm or 50mm lens. Macro lens optional.
knowledge of shooting in manual mode
knowledge of photoshop is recommended

What is included:

lunch and snacks
ongoing support via Facebook private group and email

Transportation and accommodations are not included in the tuition. There will be an optional no-host group dinner following the workshop. Workshops are not open to those who currently mentor. I ask my students to honor a 1 year non-compete contract from the date of the workshop.
