I made a heavy post the other day about the photog I made a heavy post the other day about the photography industry and it’s been circulating FB with lots of shares and open discussion about how other creatives are feeling in their struggles. THANK YOU to everyone who has taken the time to comment and share. I want to take this moment to recognize and appreciate the beautiful souls who have contributed to MY journey with their inspiration, education and beautiful hearts. As an educator, I ALWAYS tell my students that I’m a firm believer in doing business with good humans - whether it’s investing in education, props, or client products, we have a choice in who we work with - just like our clients do - and I have been fortunate to work some really incredible people in this business. I’m going to tag some of my favorite humans/businesses in the comments below. I would love for you to comment with some of your favorites in the industry. Let’s share some love and positivity. ❤️
11+ years photographing newborns 11+ years pouring 11+ years photographing newborns
11+ years pouring my heart and soul into this business
11+ years working with the most incredible people When my second son was born in 2011, I reached out to a newborn photographer to have his photos taken and was turned away because he would be over 10 days old when she was able to get him in for his session. I was devastated. This was a driving force to me starting down the path of becoming a newborn photographer. When I started my business, I made it a point NOT to have a 10 day window. I will photograph newborn sessions up to 6 weeks post birth and if for some reason I am not able to get them in, I always refer out. Babies grow and change SO much and it happens so quickly. That first year passes by in a blur. Ask anyone with kids and they’ll tell you, “the days are long but the years are fast”. My son who is now 13 doesn’t have professional newborn photos, but because of that, THOUSANDS of my clients now do. ❤️ Fabric from @freebird_shoppe
The photography industry is on fire right now. And The photography industry is on fire right now. And I don’t mean that in a good way. Every morning I open my socials to find an incredibly sad story about a struggling business or a studio closing. These are well seasoned/accomplished business owners that have been running successful businesses for a decade or more. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. I’m hopeful this is a down season and we will ride through the storm but only time will tell. Trying to stay positive but want everyone to know, you’re not alone. ❤️
