Sunset Beach Newborn Session with Brody | Seattle – Kirkland newborn-baby photographer

There might not be anything more amazing than doing a sunset beach newborn session when you specialize in newborn photography. When my husband told me we were going to travel down to San Diego because of a work retreat, I just knew if I didn’t do a sunset beach session, I would regret it. It looked like the weather would be absolutely perfect; lots of beautiful sunshine and warm enough to take a baby to the beach. The stars were aligning! I asked a few photographer friends of mine down in the area if they would be interested in joining me. It was so great that a couple of them were able to fit it in with their busy lives. They even posted a few model calls and found some babies for us to photograph!

When I showed up at the beach about an hour before sunset, I noticed that it was considerably cooler and a breeze was coming through pretty steadily. I was a bit worried it was good cold for baby Brody, who came to us at just 5 days old. Luckily, one of the other photographers knew of a little section of beach that was a little more secluded and tucked back around a large cliff which gave us lots of protection from the wind. We also had plenty of blankets and little props for Brody to keep him nice and warm. This beautiful babe with his full head of hair didn’t even make a peep! We made it through a couple of set ups in the half an hour we had to photograph him before the sun set for the evening. He was perfect.

Outdoor Family Session | Maple Valley Issaquah baby-child-family photographer

This outdoor family session was with a group of people whom I adore so very much! I’m sure you remember a few months ago when I shared a photo of a brand new baby girl with a full head of dark hair wrapped up and snuggling next to her big brother who had a full head of red hair. I think those two are destined for winning the ‘best hair’ contest for the rest of their lives because let me tell you, it was pretty amazing. Well I had the opportunity to photograph them again for an outdoor family mini session over the summer. Grandma was in town, too so we caught some special moments of her with her grandchildren. Oh, and by the way, I found out exactly where Gavin got his awesome hair from… it was Grandma! Check out some of my faves from their session. Sweet Baby Boy Knox | Bellevue – Kirkland newborn-baby-maternity photographer

You guys, this sweet baby boy came in to see me for his newborn session a few weeks ago and he totally melted my heart. Talk about a smiling, happy newborn baby boy! I think he flashed us his cute little grin about half a dozen times and lucky for me, I actually managed to capture a few of those little grins on camera! He slept pretty soundly the entire time he was here and he absolutely LOVED being in the froggy pose. In fact, I think mom and dad had a tough time choosing between all the froggy pose because there were so many great ones! This little family was so amazing to work with and I was truly honored that they chose me to photograph these special memories for them.

9 Months Pregnant and Looking Fabulous | Maple Valley – Issaquah newborn-baby-maternity photographer

This soon to be momma met for her for maternity session when she was 9 months pregnant. Most maternity sessions are done in the 34-36 week window; just late enough in the pregnancy that momma is really showing but not so late in the pregnancy that she begins to get too uncomfortable. Kirsten looked fabulous! She was feeling amazing still, too which isn’t something you hear too often later in pregnancy. We trekked all over the place to capture some amazing photos of her and her hubby. The evening of their maternity session, there was a big event happening in the park near where we were so lots of people were crossing our paths. You can’t tell from their photos though. It’s almost as if no one else was around. I love capturing these special moments for expectant parents. It’s crazy to think that in just a few short weeks, baby Hunter will be here and I can’t wait to meet him!

Cake Smash Session with Adeline | Auburn- Maple Valley baby photographer

This Cake Smash Session might have been one of my favorites to date! When Adeline’s parents found me last winter and booked her 6 month session with me, I was honored. Most of the babies I photograph for their sitting up and cake smash sessions are return babies from their newborn sessions. By the time their milestones start to roll around, I’ve already formed a bit of a bond with the family. The first time I met Adeline and her parents was at her sitting up session and let me tell you, this family is amazing. I absolutely loved working with them and was so excited to have them come back to me for her one year cake smash session! In the 6 months since I had last seen her, she had not only started crawling which turned into walking, but this little one was on the move! She was dancing and clapping and singing along to her favorite tunes on daddy’s phone. It’s really quite entertaining to watch a group of adults try to keep the attention of a toddler during a photo session 🙂 Adeline did not disappoint. While I’m pretty sure her favorite part was the cake smash, my favorite part was seeing her little face again. Here are some of my favorites from her session and let me tell you, I can not wait to watch this girl grow!
