Charlotte and her family came in for her newborn session when she was just about 2 weeks old. Charlotte was a rainbow baby and momma requested a few rainbow set ups to complete her session and her celebrate the arrival of their long awaited baby girl. I loved the soft pastel tones that the family chose for her session and capturing all her little details to complete her gallery.

Aiden | Best Bellevue Newborn Photographer

Aiden was just about 2 weeks old when he came in for his newborn session. Momma waited a long time to welcome this sweet little man into the world and wanted to make his session extra special. Aiden’s big brother came along to the session so we could capture some of those precious moments of him holding his baby brother. Let me tell you, he was a natural! He immediately snuggled little Aiden and was more than happy to sit patiently with him. I loved seeing the special bond that these two share!

We spent the last half of Aiden’s session photographing him by himself. Mostly neutral tones with a little pop of blue. The colors were perfect for his creamy skin tones. I’m sharing a few of my favorites below.

Eden | Kirkland Newborn Photographer

Eden’s parents were referred to me from a colleague down in Oregon. They had originally planned to make the trek down to Oregon for her newborn session and at the last minute, decided to stay a bit closer to home. I was so happy to get them on the schedule and meet their beautiful family. This pretty little girl was absolutely amazing. The soft neutral tones were the perfect compliment to her gorgeous ivory skin. Her little facial expressions, pouty lips and sweet smiles made me swoon.

Newborn Posing Workshop with Dawn Potter Photography

Are you read to improve your newborn posing skills?

Come spend the day with me and learn all about posing newborns in this studio lighting newborn workshop.

Things we will cover:

my beanbag posing flow
working with studio lighting
choosing and working with props
parent prep
styling your session
soothing techniques
newborn wrapping
transitions and shooting angles
editing workflow
business Q&A

You will have the opportunity to shoot along and use the images you capture for your portfolio!

What you need:

DSLR camera with 35mm or 50mm lens. Macro lens optional.
knowledge of shooting in manual mode
knowledge of photoshop is recommended

What is included:

lunch and snacks
ongoing support via Facebook private group and email

Transportation and accommodations are not included in the tuition. There will be an optional no-host group dinner the evening before so we can all get acquainted ahead of time. Workshops are not open to those who currently mentor. I ask my students to honor a 1 year non-compete contract from the date of the workshop.

Total tuition cost is $750. $350 deposit due to secure your spot with workshop balance due 2 weeks before workshop date.

Savanna | 4 lb Newborn Baby Girl

Are you looking for a newborn photographer in Seattle? Dawn Potter Photography is located just a few minutes east of downtown Seattle in the heart of Issaquah.

Savanna was just 4 lbs at birth. I’ve photographed many babies including twins and she was the tiniest baby I have ever photographed. This special little girl holding her is her big sister, Vienna. The two of them were a lovely pair. I could tell from the first moment I saw them together that Vienna is going to be an amazing big sister. So loving and so cuddly.

We photographed this session using mostly neutrals and added in a touch of lavender to brighten things up. I loved the color palette and the way it all came together in the end. Such a gorgeous little family.
