Adriella | Renton Newborn Photographer

Adriella came in for her newborn session with her momma and her grandma. Momma really wanted to use pink her gallery because this baby girl was their special little Dutch Princess. Momma even brought along a few props to incorporate into the session to really tie in their Dutch heritage. She was just the perfect little girl, too. So dainty and sweet. I loved her little facial expressions and when she flashed me that gorgeous smile of hers, I totally squealed!

Adriella was a rainbow baby and I was so happy that momma told me so I could be sure to include a few extra special sets in her gallery to celebrate her long awaited arrival. Seattle 3:1 Newborn Workshop

3 on 1 small group workshop

Instructor: Dawn Potter

Seattle, WA – March 10th

Come spend a full day with Dawn and get hands on experience with newborn posing!

Things we will cover:

studio lighting
equipment, settings & white balancing
styling for your session
choosing and working with props
parent prep
posing flow
newborn wrapping
transitions and shooting angles
editing workflow

You will have the opportunity to shoot along and use the images you capture for your portfolio!

What you need:

DSLR camera with 35mm or 50mm lens. Macro lens optional.
knowledge of shooting in manual mode
knowledge of photoshop is recommended

What is included:

lunch and snacks
ongoing support via Facebook private group and email

Transportation and accommodations are not included in the tuition. There will be an optional no-host group dinner the evening before day one so we can all get acquainted ahead of time. Workshops are not open to those who currently mentor. We ask our students to honor a 1 year non-compete contract from the date of the workshop.

Total tuition cost is $1200. $400 deposit due to secure your spot with workshop balance due 2 weeks before workshop date.

Michelle | Seattle Maternity Photographer

Michelle’s maternity session took place at the lovely arboretum in Maple Valley. When spring flowers are in full bloom and the sun is shining after months of gloom, you get outdoors and take advantage of all the beauty that nature has to offer. I much prefer photographing maternity sessions outdoors. Especially when momma wants to include her family. Lots of room to move and explore and there’s no better backdrop than those beautiful trees and flowers.

Chase | 6 Day Old Newborn Session

Bellevue newborn photographer, Dawn Potter has a commercial studio located just a few minutes east of Bellevue in downtown Issaquah.

Chase was just 6 days old when he came in for his newborn session. Sweet as can be with his beautiful little features and soft fluffy hair. I’m pretty sure he didn’t open his eyes at all the whole time he was with me!

Momma had a few set ups she was really hoping to get during his newborn session. One of them was the baby in the hanging basket. I made it a priority to get that set up done right away to be sure we were able to get it. The other was the baby in a sling image. This one was a bit trickier to pull off. Luckily, with dad’s help and patience, I was able to get what I needed to bring the final image together in photoshop. And just to help put everyone’s minds at ease, baby was never actually suspended 🙂

Momma also planned way ahead and ordered this special little knit outfit in Seahawks colors just for Chase’s newborn session. It fit him so well and I loved it so much that I went ahead and ordered one to have in the studio for my future babies. Just in time for football season!

Seattle Newborn Photography Session | Jackson 6 weeks

Seattle newborn photography session with little Jackson, just 6 weeks old! Jackson and his momma came in for a petite newborn session, which gave us just about an hour of time to photograph this little nugget. Most 6 weeks old newborns are quite a bit more alert than the 2 weeks I typically photograph. They are also often times starting to smile on cue. I have to tell you, seeing this little due with his bright blue inquisitive eyes starting back at me was pretty amazing. And the adorable little smiles he flashed just sealed the deal for me!
