Thomas | Snoqualmie Newborn Session

When Thomas came in for his newborn session with his older brother, I wasn’t sure what to expect.  Sessions with toddlers can ne a tad unpredictable.  But this little guy was amazing.  And the two of them all cuddled up together… melted my heart!

Thomas’ momma chose a neutral session for her little man and his creamy skin was perfection next to the creamy color palette. Sharing a few of my favorites from Thomas’ newborn session.

*For more information on scheduling your newborn session, please ‘contact me‘. All newborn sessions take place in our downtown Issaquah studio, just minutes from Snoqualmie.*

Phillip | Issaquah newborn session

Sweet little Phillip was just 11 days old when he came in for his newborn session. Momma really wanted to stay with creamy, earthy neutrals so that’s exactly what we did. it was a perfect match for his creamy skin, too!
He looked so cute all wrapped up, and he was perfectly content snuggling with is momma. I’m pretty sure he only woke to eat and was otherwise pretty sleepy the entire session. I especially loved the way he curled up in my little posing chair. Every time I use that prop, I love it but I rarely use it unless I have a parent requesting it!

When you schedule your newborn session with Dawn Potter Photography, you will fill out a pre-session questionnaire where you’ll have the opportunity to tell me about your color preferences and share with me any images of mine that you’re drawn to. These questionnaires are so helpful for me when it comes to styling your session. They give me a good idea of what you’re looking for and what your goals are for your session. So if there is a prop you’ve seen in one of my blog posts that you really love, be sure to let me know when you schedule!

Here’s a little peek in Phillip’s Issaquah newborn session.  If interested in a portrait session, contact me today!

Stone | Newborn Photography Session in Seattle

I had the privilege of meeting this family a few years ago when their daughter Ever was born. It was so great being able to see them all again when they welcomed their newest addition, Stone into their family.

The kids all took turns holding Stone and the group images were some of my all time favorites.  Once we wrapped up with the family, I let dad leave with the older kiddos and I spent the rest of the session focused on Stone.  I think he opened his eyes for about 2.5 seconds and then went right back to sleep.

North Bend Newborn Photographer | Calvin

Every once in a while, a client will schedule a petite newborn session instead of a boutique newborn session. Petite sessions are short and simple and the focus is 100% on that beautiful little newborn baby.

Calvin came in for his petite session and my heart just melted.  His lashes were probably the longest lashes I have ever seen on a newborn baby! And his beautiful head of hair would make anyone swoon.  I love that in our short time together, he even managed to pop open his eyes for a little bit.

Sharing a few of my favorites from Calvin’s all neutral petite newborn session.  Check out the investment page to see the differences between the petite session and the boutique session.

Seattle Newborn Photo Session | Madison

I loved the color palette mom chose for little Madison’s newborn session.  The cream, the lavender, the grey… they all look so beautiful together.   The goal with every newborn session is to provide a gallery of finished images that will all compliment each other. This way, every family has options for how they choose to display their work.

Madison ws one of those dream babies.  She was awake when I laid her down on the beanbag and within a minute or two, was fast asleep.  She cracked her eyes open a few times but only long enough for me to capture one or two images and then she went right back to sleep.  Made it super easy for me to get through all her set ups and get lots of great images for mom and dad.
