I met this beautiful baby girl and her momma when they came in for her newborn session at my studio after she searched for a Puyallup newborn baby photographer. Momma wanted to keep the session mostly neutral tones with some soft pink so that’s exactly what we did. The subtle color and the soft ivory and champagne complimented her skin so perfectly. And I love the way the conversion into black and white showing off her little details and the flakey skin on her fingers and toes. Sharing a few of my favorites from Miss Gemma’s newborn session below.

As a professional Bellevue newborn photographer, I don’t know if I have ever photographed a baby that smiled as much during their session as Capri did. I think she may have smiled in just about every single setup we did. And such a pretty little smile it was! I’m not sure which one of her features I loved most; the beautiful smile she flashed, her gorgeous LONG lashes, or her full head of hair. Sharing a few of my favorites from her session below. Miss Everly came in for her newborn session right around 2 weeks old weighing just about 10 pounds. If I haven’t said it before, I absolutely LOVE being a Mercer Island Newborn Photographer and photographing big babies. They have such beautiful round cheeks and their squishy little rolls are adorable. She certainly did not disappoint. Sharing a few of my favorites from Everly’s session below. Potato Sack Pose – Facebook Live with Dawn Potter Photography – April 2021

Come join me in April (Date TBD) while I broadcast through Facebook LIVE from my studio! Your purchased ticket will grant you entry to the group as I take you through my potato sack posing flow.

We will start with wrapping baby and the tools I use to create my potato sack wrap. I’ll show you how I pose baby and the tools I use for the upright potato sack pose with smooth fabric as well as on the flokati. I’ll demonstrate posing positioning as well as shooting angles.

Afterward, I’ll show you how I transition from the traditional potato sack pose to the baby in a prop shooting from above and the different shooting angles.

And lastly, if baby allows, I will show my transition from the potato sack pose in a prop to how I pose the baby in the bucket, the tools I use, and shooting angles.

The Facebook live shoot will end there but we will have another Facebook live session within the group where I will show you my editing workflow and Q&A to answer all your questions in real-time!

The group will remain open for ONE MONTH so you’ll be able to watch back when time allows. I will also post a Q&A thread where I can continue to answer your questions.

Kathreen | Studio Maternity Portraits Session

The majority of my clients that come to see me for maternity portraits want to take their session outdoors. We live in the gorgeous Pacific Northwest and are surrounded by so much greenery and beauty! But, we also live in Seattle and the weather can be unpredictable and in the wintertime, downright dreary and grey.
