Issaquah newborn session | Issaquah photographer

Issaquah newborn session with newborn photographer, Dawn Potter Photography – The Newborn Whisperer.  Specializing in the art of posed newborn photography.

This little man was such a dream baby.  Momma wanted grey to be the main color and let me just say, it was the perfect choice because it looked amazing on him.

The little drawer shown here was found on one of my antiquing journeys.  It’s become a personal favorite of mine!  I love finding unique things that really showcase just how small these little babies are.

I was told that daddy was a really big Star Wars fan so of course, we had to do at least one Star Wars set up!   And who can resist a little baby smirk?! I always wonder what it is they’re thinking about when they flash use those sleepy smiles.

Momma and baby images… they’re everything. She will look back on these images just a few months from now and be surprised that he was ever small enough to fit in her arms.

Eyes open or closed, he sure was animated! And he folded right up into the froggy pose like a natural.  Perfectly comfortable, and perfectly content.

Issaquah Baby Photographer | cake smash session

Issaquah baby photographer Dawn Potter specializes in the art of newborn portraiture and infant photography for young children.

I was so happy when Divina’s momma called me to schedule her one year cake smash session.  This girl was one of the most gorgeous babies I had ever photographed with her long beautiful dark hair and I absolutely couldn’t wait to see her again!  When Divina came in, she was a little sky at first but after a few minutes, she warmed right up to me and the camera.  Flashing me her darling little smile and her big brown eyes… I was smitten for sure!  Such a teeny little thing, too.  Sometimes I look at her photos and I think I’m seeing a doll!

I’m sharing a few of my personal favorites, as always.  And of course, you can always go back and look at Divina’s newborn session, too!

**Currently booking due dates and milestone sessions through February.  Contact me for details!

I know I’m always talking about all the amazing things that come along with my ‘job’ of being a newborn photographer.  In all honesty, I can’t imagine that anyone else could ever love what they do as much as I love what I do but I know that’s the not the case.  Well, this family is one of those things that I really love about my job.  I’ve known this baby girl’s daddy for a while now.  He and my husband used to work together a few years back.  They were friends when he met the woman who is now his wife.  They were friends when I started my newborn photography business.  And they are still friends today.  This couple has supported my journey and when it came it time to have a brand new little girl of their own, they chose me to be their newborn photographer.  I was absolutely honored and couldn’t wait to meet their little girl.

Ainsley was so beautiful!  Bright big gorgeous eyes and the cutest little head of hair.  And since I’m several months behind on blogging, I can tell you that she’s has just continued to grow and become even more beautiful.  (She looks just like her momma, if you ask me!)  I’m sharing a few of my favorite images from her session!

Eastside Newborn Session | Bellevue newborn photographer

Eastside newborn session with Dawn Potter Photography.  Maple Valley’s premier newborn photographer serving Bellevue, Seattle and the surrounding areas.

One of the most amazing things about being a newborn photographer (aside from snuggling with all those babies) is meeting the most wonderful families!  When little Mia’s momma contacted me to photograph their baby girl, I was so excited.  I absolutely love photographing siblings together and something about a big brother holding his baby sister really just melts my heart.  This family did not disappoint! Not only did baby Mia have the best little facial expressions and most delicious little rolls on her back, her big brother couldn’t have been more adorable either.  They truly were an amazing little duo.

I’m sharing some of my favorite photos from baby Mia’s session, and let me tell you, it was hard to narrow it down to just these ones!

One Year Cake Smash Session | Seattle baby photographer

This one year cake smash session was done a little later than most cake smash sessions. Freya had turned one a few months before and by the time she came in, she was on her feet and on the go!  The best part was truly how happy she was.  The toddler age can be a bit more difficult to photograph.  They become much more accustomed to their schedules and routines.  They have a handful of familiar faces and voices that they’re used to.  They don’t typically change their outfits 4 times in under an hour and have a camera in their face snapping their photos. For that reason, I try to be very sensitive to their schedules and make sure that we are taking all of those things into consideration when we set a time.  It’s always best to schedule AFTER nap time and meal time so baby is well rested and fed.  Those two things, believe it or not, can make or break a session!

When Freya came in for her session, she was a little unsure about me at first.  I had photographed her before for her sitting up session, but it had been a while so of course, she didn’t remember me.  But after a few minutes, she warmed up and the smiles and laughs never ended.
