Anyone who is a newborn photographer holds a sleepy baby in high regard! When this little one came to see me, she was SO sleepy that I don’t think she even opened her eyes at all until the very end. The best part about a sleepy baby is the amount of set ups that can be accomplished during a newborn session. Quinn’s momma had a few things in mind before she came to see me and I had a few things in mind after getting to know her a little bit. In the end, we got some unique photos of this little girl and I was so happy to deliver her momma a gallery full of colorful images. I think pretty much every photo was a fave of mine but I’m only going to share a handful of them with you all. I hope you love them as much as I do!

10 lb baby boy Dylan | Bellevue – Seattle Newborn Baby Photographer

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this 10 lb baby boy when he was just 12 days old. At 23″ long, I think he was the ‘tallest’ baby I have ever photographed! This family lives down in California and his momma is a friend of mine, so when she reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in flying down there for his newborn session, I didn’t even hesitate! As soon as he was born we made arrangements for a quick trip down and back. I loaded up a suitcase full of goodies and away I went. Little Dylan was such a sweetie. He absolutely loved being cuddled up in his momma’s arms. His big brother, Brennan was just 21 months old and he was the PERFECT little guy during the family photos. For a toddler to be stuck in a house that’s nearly 85 degrees when the sun is shining outside, it’s a pretty major accomplishment! He was so patient and loving and the photos I took of the two of them together are absolutely priceless. I’m sharing a few of my personal faves from their session. Enjoy!

Beautiful baby boy Kekoa | 6 days { Bellevue-Maple Valley newborn-baby photographer}

This beautiful baby boy came to see me when he was just 6 days new and weighing right around 7 lbs. He had a FULL head of hair and the cutest little features. Kekoa was the first baby boy that I had photographed in nearly THREE MONTHS! I have a busy calendar full of girls, but it seems that these little men are no where to be found! (I’m thinking there MUST be something in the water!) He was such a great little sleeper during his session. I don’t think he even made a peep! His mom and dad traveled a little ways to bring him in and I was so grateful that they did. Wait till you see the family photo I captured of the three of them; it’s absolutely precious.

With a busy week of photographing newborns (three babies in one week), I’m now waiting on a couple more to arrive so my April calendar is pretty much full. May is almost fully booked as well. If you are expecting and would like to schedule a newborn session, please don’t wait to contact me!

4 Month old Baby Girl Adalena | Maple Valley – Hobart Baby Photographer

When Adalena’s mom called me to schedule her 4 month old session, I was super excited! I had the pleasure of photographing Adalena’s newborn session (which you can see here) and it’s always so great seeing them again as they get older and their little personalities start to shine through! A newborn baby most certainly isn’t engaged with the camera, but when they’re a few months old, they are definitely much more aware! This little doll looked right at me with her piercing blue eyes and even flashed the tiniest little smirk a few times. It was really funny as I was editing her photos because there were several of them where I thought, ‘She looks so much like her big sister!” You should go see for yourself! Anyhow, I’m very much looking forward to watching little Adalena grow and and can’t wait to photograph her next session in just a few months. Stay tuned! Newborn Workshop | Seattle – Bellevue Newborn Baby Photographer

The first time I met Stephanie from Jaiden Photography, she was photographing my youngest son. He was a newborn model for a workshop she was teaching in the town I live in. I remember one of the other photographers commenting on how she was basically the best in the industry. At that time, I wasn’t a photographer. But those words really stayed with me. Because a year later, when I decided to start my business and specialize in newborn photography, I knew that I wanted to learn from the best. I set a goal to take her workshop and started saving money!

When Stephanie announced her 2015 workshop dates, I’ll admit, I was a bit disappointed that she wasn’t teaching one anywhere near me. I had already made up my mind that when I had saved up enough money for an in-person workshop, it would be hers that I would be signing up for. The closest one to me was down in California. So this just meant I had to save up a little more so I could afford to travel. It was most definitely a great excuse for a vacation!

Words can not describe the experience. We photographed several babies throughout the day; learning to perfect our soothing techniques, wrapping skills and newborn poses. We ended the day with a sunset beach session that included a maternity model as well as a family session. It was amazing.
