Newborn Baby Girl Adalyn | Seattle Newborn Photographer

This newborn baby girl came in during a model call a few weeks ago.  She was just a week old and hovering right around the 8 lbs mark.  She was ultra sleepy and suuuuuuper curly.  I don’t think there was a pose this little one wasn’t comfortable in!  She slept so well the entire time she was here.  The weather in Seattle was pretty gloomy that day, unfortunately.  The session could have lasted longer if the light would have been just a little bit better. This is definitely one of the challenges of being a natural light newborn photographer.  Especially in the Northwest and especially in the winter time!  Even though it was a dim and dark day, we still managed to capture some amazing photos though!  Perks of having awesome photography equipment. 🙂

World, say hello to little Adalyn.  7 days new and 8 lbs of cuteness!

Sleepy Baby Girl Ainsley | Seattle Newborn Photographer

From my very first phone conversation with Ainsley’s momma, I was so excited to be chosen as their newborn photographer.  I had never had the opportunity to photograph a baby named Ainsley and I just adore that name!  This little sweetheart did not disappoint, either.  She was quite the sleepy baby and her session was a breeze.  Momma even brought in a few very sentimental props to include in the session and we captured some really darling images of this baby girl with her family as well.  You can even see it in the photos just how in love these brand new parents are with their little girl.  So many great images but I’m only posting a handful of my favorites from their session.  (Believe me, it was hard to choose!)  Everyone, say hello to Ainsley!

10 pound baby girl | Seattle Newborn Photography

This beautiful baby girl came in from Seattle for her newborn photos when she was just one week old.  She gives new meaning to the nickname ‘Little Squish’ cause she most certainly was a squishy little girl!  Her full head of hair and stubbornness to stay awake as long as possible was oh-so-cute!  Weighing in at exactly 10 pounds at birth, she was quite the bundle of perfection.  Her chubby little cheeks and rolls were so darling.  I couldn’t resist taking about a zillion photos of her.  (You’ll know what I mean when you see them!) I have at least one moment during every session; whether baby is awake or asleep where I think to myself, “Man, I really love my job.”  This session was no exception.  I got to see this family again last night when I met with them to preview their images and little Zoe is already growing. 🙁  It goes by WAY too fast!  Enjoy every single second of it.  Take photos!  Preserve those memories.  Snuggle your little ones.

Introducing Miss Zoe Nohealani (gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl) and showing you all just a few of my favorites from her session.

Baby Girl Adalena | Seattle Newborn Photographer

This baby girl came to see me not once, but twice!  Unfortunately, her first session didn’t quite go according to plan and we all thought it best to take a break, wait a few more days, and try again.  I’m SO glad we did!  During her first session, we captured some amazing images of her by herself, and during her second session, we were able to get some family photos and a few gorgeous shots of her with her momma.  In the end, it was actually really tough for me to choose my favorites to share!  It’s no secret that I love a sleepy little curly baby and how gorgeous they are when they’re photographed in the simplest way, but I really do think that the momma/baby poses are my faves.  Capturing that connection between a new mom and her brand new baby is truly something to be treasured.  Here’s just a small sampling of this sweet baby girl’s gallery.  Meet Miss Adalena Saige.  8.5 lbs and 15 days new.  You can actually see a few images from her momma’s maternity session here.

Liam’s Newborn Session | 18 days {Seattle Newborn Photographer}

Every once in a while, I schedule a newborn session just outside of the typical ‘5-10’ day window. Anyone who has children knows that babies can be quite unpredictable.  Some of the newborns I have photographed, have barely slept.  Some sleep so deeply that they don’t even wake up when I’m moving them into different poses!  Even with those wide awake babies, generally they sleep for at least a little while so we can capture some great shots!  One reason most newborn photographers aim for that 5-10 window is that usually they’re still a bit sleepy.  They’re bones haven’t quite fused so they’re also a tad more pliable.  (Those  little curly poses can only be achieved when the baby is still very new.)  But this little guy, even at 18 days, was a total rockstar!  He slept so well during his session that we got through several poses in our limited time together.  I’m sharing a few of my faves from his session for all of you to see.

As of now, I’m booking newborns into 2015.  If you’re expecting a baby and you’re interested in working with me, please contact me for more information on how to schedule.
